After growing up in Liverpool, and then ten years or so in London, Alex decamped with his family to rural Cambridgeshire. With no expectations at all he wrote and recorded a bunch of songs that chronicled his journey from the city to the country. Just stuff about what was going on around him, his wife, his kids, breathing in the fresh air and staring into the abyss…

"Frankly it's a real boost to discover a genuine world class practitioner who restores your faith in the genre..." Tom Robinson BBC6Music

"laid-back but infectious songcraft..." - Time Out

"....an old-fashioned troubadour in the strictest sense. Strumming gentle folk songs on his guitar, his warm and soulful voice conjures up memories of sun-kissed summer nights out on the lawn." - London Metro

Track Name: You've Got The Trees
You've got the trees
Right behind your eyes
Showing me your leaves
Telling me your lies
This is how I know
This is how I know about you
'Cos you're at one with nature
Honey i'm at two

You've got the wind
Blowing through your hair
Telling me your sins
Showing me you're there
This is how I know
This is how I know what you do
'Cos you're at one with nature
Honey I'm at two

Now clearly you've got all the things that I need
And you're leading me on when you're planting your seeds
But I'm so messed up
What can a middle-class boy do
When you're Mother Nature's Daughter
And I'm trapped in this city like a fool

You've got the sun
Shining on your smile
Showing me you've won
And showing me in style
This is how i know
This is how i know it won't do
'Cos you're at one with nature
Hone I'm at two.
Track Name: Village Life
Well I went for a walk
As the last rays of sun
Fell asleep on the fields
Of the place where I run
And I saw you

You stood over a man
Who was all tied up
As he begged for forgiveness
Could he drink from your cup
Cos he loved you

I stepped slowly through the trees
I saw him get down on his knees for you
And you screamed in delight
Is it true
Is this just village life

Well he came to a head
Like an old spent cask
And you undid his knots
And you took off your mask
And you saw me

I last seen your face
In the Three Blackbirds
When you served me my pint
But you didn't say a word
Though we both knew

I see that twinkle in your eye
Maybe I shouldn't be suprised by you
And the things you did that night
Is it true
And I just don't know what its like
When you
You scream in delight
Is it true
Is this just village life
